Another campout at Patrick’s Point!!
HSC has reserved the week of September 11th –18th. Come up and experience the magic and beauty of Patrick's Point. Patrick's Point is a tree and meadow covered headlands thirty miles north of Eureka. Though the 640-acre park is in the heart of California's coast redwood country it’s principal trees are spruce, hemlock, pine fir and red alder. There is a beautiful beach (Agate Beach) that has loads of collectable rocks. Wedding Rock, Patrick’s Point and Palmer’s Point are excellent places to view the Fall migration of the California Grey Whale. And a hike down from Wedding rock is a great tide pooling spot.
Beach Creek Group Area has a covered cooking area and a communal sink with HOT water. There are bathrooms and showers (bring your quarters). There is a large beautiful meadow for fun and games with forests on either side for camping in. Please note: We will keep the meadow open for communal games & gatherings and put tents in the surrounding forest.
Our family loves Patrick’s Point and we are looking forward to returning to Beach Creek Group Area but our favorite thing about the campout is hanging with all the fun and interesting home schooling families. The campout is a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. We have an optional potluck every evening, sing a-longs, hikes, sometimes there are board or card games going. If you have a craft you enjoy and would like to share, please do!
Check in time 2:00 Thursday the 11th * Check out 12:00 Thursday the 18th
The fee is $25.00 per person for the week. I am sure we will have lots of interest so register early and please let me know as soon as possible if you need to cancel as we will have a waiting list. Families who plan to attend all week will have priority for registration. (And of course so will HSC members.)
Send your check, payable to HSC, along with your liability release form, your email address, the number of people in your party (this is important as the park allows only a certain number of people in the group area ), whether tent, trailer or RV (there is very little room for large RV’s and we will be asking anyone with a camping vehicle to leave the camping area when they need to charge their batteries etc.) with a SASE to: Robie Tenorio, 1901 Dutyville, Garberville, CA 95542.
Cancellations must be made by August 1, 2007 to receive a refund.
If you have any questions call Robie at: (707) 986-7787or email gregori@humboldt.net
