Carpinteria State Beach
October 10th - 15th, 2010
Come join join in in creating a little community of homeschoolers at the upcoming HSC beach campout at Carpinteria State Beach, just eleven miles south of Santa Barbara. Last time we camped here we had a great time! Many took advantage of camp's proximity to town walking to the farmers market and/or the old fashioned candy store, for example; Kids played multiple games of LARP on the big grassy field adjacent to our sites; and plenty of us enjoyed the beach - relaxing, body boarding and tide-pooling. There is a lot to do given this location - a California State Beach located in a quaint suburban beach town.

Cost for the campout is $54. per person over the age of 2. This cost covers the price of the group area, and wood for nightly campfires and for cooking, and one car per family. Good company and music (we hope) included at no extra charge!
*One car per family in the group area.
*Please note that there is limited room for RV's in the group area. RV's will have to be OK'd on a case by case basis, and could include an extra cost if they constitute two vehicles, like a trailer and pull vehicle, for example. Please email Maura directly if you wish to bring an RV.
*Please be aware that our camping area is right next to railroad tracks where a lovely morning train whizzes by blowing its not very subtle horn.
Reservations are first come first served, except that HSC members receive priority if the campout fills up. (Get your membership current to avoid the possibility of being bumped!)
