HSC May Beach Campout!

Carpinteria State Beach for five nights, (arriving) Sunday May 3rd to (leaving) Friday May 8th. Registration for this campout is open now!

Are you ready for the beach? Might you enjoy a short walk (or bike ride) to the quaint town that's adjacent to camp? Come join us as we create a little community of homeschoolers at our upcoming beach campout at Carpinteria State Beach, just eleven miles south of Santa Barbara.

Cost for the campout is $34.50 per person for the five nights. Ages 2 and under are free. This cost covers the price of the group area, and wood for nightly campfires and for cooking. Good company and music (we hope) included at no extra charge!

*Please note that there will not be room for RV's in the group area. (Regular sleep-in vans are OK, but will count as your one car.) We are camping in the Anacappa area; we have the whole top part of the loop that includes two small-ish group sites (Fox and Bob), and a number of individual sites. If you need space for your RV, trailer, or pop-up camper/trailer, you can reserve one of the nearby individual sites.

*Please also note: Only one car is included in the cost. If you bring an extra car, you will need to pay $8.00 per day (to the state park), AND park the car in the overflow area.

*Because we are needing to make our own large group site here, by reserving two small-ish group sites, and a number of individual sites, we may need to park a few more cars in the overflow area. If you only have one car, the cost *is* included in what you pay, but we may need to ask a few people if, after unloading, they would be willing to park their cars in the overflow area, which is not far from the group area. Please consider if this is something you might be able/willing to do. I imagine we will have plenty of volunteers for this, so don't worry if you think you can't.

Reservations are first come first served.

Also, consider finding it on Google Maps, using the satellite view, and you can see the camping area; it's the one furthest north, next to a big open field, and right next to the railroad tracks (yes, it's true). You can almost "walk "right up to the campsites using the street view too!
