MAKING LOCAL CONNECTIONS

Once you have started homeschooling, it's natural to want to connect with other homeschooling families local to you!

Finding friends who are available for park days, learning co-ops, play dates, and field trips can help you build community and confidence!

THE LEGAL STUFF

There are numerous legal options to choose from when determining the best educational option for your children:

  1. Establishing Your Own Private School (PSA)

  2. Private School Satellite Programs

  3. Public School Independent Study Programs

  4. Charter Schools

  5. Tutoring (Credentialed Teacher)

IMPORTANT: DO NOT FILE THE PSA IN THE SUMMER BREAK. THE FILING PERIOD FOR THE NEXT SCHOOL YEAR IS OCT 1-15.

DO NOT FILE THE PSA FOR YOUR KINDERGARTNER WHO IS UNDER THE AGE OF 6 AS OF SEPTEMBER 1.

Homeschooling parents and young people can submit articles for publication, to share their experiences and encourage others. If you (or your homeschooled teen) are a budding writer who would like to write about your own homeschool or unschooling experiences, please submit a piece of between 400-800 words to publication@hsc.org. The submission should be entirely your own work and not contain any affiliate links.
